Abstract

In December 2024, the year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation in West Java Province was 1.64 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at 107.33. The highest inflation occurred in Sukabumi City at 2.59 percent, with a CPI of 107.60, while the lowest inflation occurred in Subang Regency at 0.93 percent, with a CPI of 109.07.
The y-o-y inflation was driven by price increases, as indicated by the rise in the expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverages, and tobacco group at 1.75 percent; the clothing and footwear group at 1.22 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group at 0.45 percent; the household equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance group at 1.03 percent; the health group at 2.22 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group at 1.28 percent; the education group at 2.34 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant group at 2.34 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 9.09 percent.
Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in their indices were: the information, communication, and financial services group at -0.39 percent and the transportation group at -0.05 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in West Java Province in December 2024 was 0.35 percent, while the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.64 percent.
